Digistar 4 European Showcase 2011
Evans & Sutherland held two unique events in September 2011 in Hamburg and Kiel Germany. These free events showcased the ease of use and power of Digistar 4. In Planetarium Hamburg E&S presented live demonstrations of Digistar 4 in their magnificent Premium Seam dome. Then at Facchhochschule Kiel's renowned Mediendom, E&S provided a hands-on Digistar experience in their state-of-the-art multimedia computer labs.

Planetarium Hamburg (Noon-4PM)
We will spend an afternoon under the 20 m dome to see Digistar 4 with dual Sony projectors (4K x 4K) showing both playback and real-time sequences. Some highlights include:
- Review the latest Digistar 4 features
- Live interaction with Digistar 4 via Microsoft Kinect
- See the Digistar 4 Graphical User Interface in action
- Live High Definition Video Input on the dome
In addition, Planetarium Hamburg will present a custom program showcasing the capabilities of Digistar 4.

13 - 14 September
Fachhochschule Kiel, University of Applied Sciences
Join Evans & Sutherland and Kiel staff for 2 days of hands-on Digistar 4 training in their University Lab. We will focus on Digistar 4’s advanced real-time features and capabilities.
Mediendom staff and students will also be showing us some of the unique ways they use Digistar 4 and some of the great content they have developed.
For those who have never experienced Digistar 4, join Scott Niskach for a half-day overview of the user interface and then join the rest of the group for further instructions.
Training will be in English. German training will also be available by request.
Lunch on both days is sponsored by E&S and will be at the University cafeteria.
For those planning to attend both events, there is good train service between Hamburg and Kiel (about 1 hour trip). On 13 September we will start at 10 AM and 14 September will be a 9 AM start. If you have questions on directions or hotel recommendations, we are happy to assist.
