Here at Sci-Port Discovery Center in Shreveport, LA, we have the cool laser projector. It displays amazingly clear pictures and vivid colors.

Brainerd Dispatch

This quote is a recent posting from the Brainerd Dispatch about a high school planetarium in Brainerd, Minnesota that has our Digistar 3 SP2 digital planetarium system.

I’ve been interested in amateur astronomy most of life and have been teaching astronomy and putting on star watching parties for over 36 years throughout Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. In mid-October of this year, I was fortunate enough to lead a public star party at Forestview Middle School in Baxter. Over 200 people came of all ages, and it was a wonderfully clear night, although there was a sufficient supply of autumn chill in the air.

After the party, Brian Wallace, a science teacher at Forestview, took me up to the brand new planetarium at the school. I was blown away! What a beautiful facility. I’ve been to a lot of planetariums across the United States and this is the best one I’ve ever seen, even better than the world famous Adler Planetarium in Chicago. The graphics are outstanding and the portrayal of the constellations is right on! Its truly state of the art and worth every penny. I applaud the people responsible for having the foresight to installing this universe under a dome.

Cranbrook Institute of Science

This Michigan science center has our Digistar 3 SP2 system in their planetarium theater.

I've gotta tell you, I love D3! I added asteroid 2004 XP14 to the system in about a minute! Truly amazing stuff.

Lode Star Astronomy Center

Back by popular demand, "Wonders of the Universe" our full-dome journey through the cosmos, has returned to Lode Star this Fall.

Wonders is a stunning show that’s powered by beautiful depictions of the cosmos and a grand and inspiring musical score. We kept the words and concepts clear to allow visitors of all levels to learn something while enjoying truly beautiful pictures and sounds. For us, it’s a masterpiece production and we’re thrilled to bring it back for our visitors.

Science Center of Iowa

In their Star Theater, the Science Center of Iowa features a Digistar 3 CRT digital planetarium system.

Of course every system has it’s ideosyncracies, but sometimes I’ve just got to say that D3 rocks!

After our 1:00 Secrets of the Sun show started today I got an e-mail from NASA saying that a large flare had occurred on the Sun and we were going to have a chance of seeing Northern Lights. I downloaded the animation of the flare and we had it playing on the dome 20 minutes later when the show ended! I was able to program and transfer files even while the show was running. Whoever developed the method for programming and designed the interface for D3 did an excellent job!
