E&S and Airbus Launch Low-Cost EP-10 Visual System

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, January 25, 2006—Evans & Sutherland Computer Corporation (E&S) (NASDAQ: ESCC) announced today that Airbus is its launch customer for E&S’s new low-cost EP™-10 visual system. The system was installed, accepted, and certified on an A320 FNPT II training device located in Toulouse, France, in December 2005.

The EP-10 combines commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) PC hardware with E&S EP real-time software. The system includes photo-realistic airport models and uses COTS LCOS projectors with a "direct view" cylindrical screen, providing a 180 x 40 degree field of view.

"Our new EP-10 image generator uses COTS hardware, with standard PCs, display projectors, and peripherals," said Dave Rushton, Managing Director of E&S UK Ltd. "The discriminators are our EP real-time software, airport models, and integration expertise. At the heart of the EP-10 system is the same core software and high fidelity airport models that run on our top-of-the line EP-1000CT Level D-compatible visual systems."
