E&S Introduces Revolutionary New Digistar 3 For Small Planetariums

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, December 13, 2007, Evans & Sutherland Computer Corporation (E&S) (NASDAQ: ESCC)- Evans & Sutherland Computer Corporation announced today the formal introduction of a revolutionary new product for small planetariums, the Digistar® 3 SP2 HD digital planetarium system. This new system offers nearly 4 times the resolution of the original Digistar 3 SP system that it replaces. Using a pair of high-definition (1080P) DLP projectors, Digistar 3 SP2 HD covers the dome with 3 million pixels, providing impressive image quality, rich color and high brightness, and is especially well-suited for domes less than 12 meters in diameter. With a price under $250K, the Digistar 3 SP2 HD is the first system to bring this high level of resolution to small domes for such an affordable price.

Seven customers have already placed orders for the new small planetarium system, including the GEMS World School in Dubai, UAE; Bellevue Community College, Bellevue, WA; Teknikens Hus in Lulea, Sweden; and MUTEC in Mexico. These first systems are currently being installed.

E&S recently demonstrated this new system at several industry trade shows including the Western Alliance of Planetariums, the Digistar Users Group conference, the Triple Conjunction Planetarium Conference and the Association of Science-Technology Centers meeting in Los Angeles. Conference delegates commented that the Digistar 3SP2 HD projection system far exceeded the image quality of other single and two projector systems and even exceeded the image quality of competing five and six projector systems on the market. This makes the Digistar 3 SP2 HD by far the best value available for small planetarium applications.

According to E&S Digital Theater's Sales Director, Jeri Panek, "Since its introduction in the summer of 2002, Digistar 3 has consistently given users the same set of powerful features whether it is installed in a large or small planetarium. Digistar 3 SP2 HD now brings the look and feel of a large planetarium system to the small theater. It offers image resolution never before possible with a pair of small projectors at a very attractive price."
